About

Singer, pianist and songwriter Claudia Urio has a voice that has been described as “incomparable, gingerbread-like”. Her jazz-funk style, with oriental and African colours, has grown out of her travels and encounters.
She spent six years in the United States, studying at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Her warm, generous stage presence has taken her to Switzerland (Montreux Jazz Festival), France (Cognac Blues Passion), Senegal, Burkina Faso (Jazz à Ouaga) and Mali (Jazzy Koum Ben).
In 2021 she released TERRA, twelve French songs reflecting her multicultural roots, together with a film shot in Berber country. With TIME she goes further still: English and French poetry meets vocal loops, electronics and the drums of Ismaël Rodriguez, a long-standing musical partner.
